Alliance chrétienne pour la Coopération Économique et le Développement Social

The microfinance programme grants microloans to the local population, enabling them to undertake income-generating activities to provide for their own needs.

Over the past three years, 121 groups and 161 individuals have benefited from these microloans which support their income-generating activities. The beneficiaries have five months to repay the loans, and following this they may apply for another. The loans range from 5,000 CFA (approximately €7,50) to 100,000 CFA (approximately €150).

The impact of the loans

Microfinance is at the forefront of our work, and is a major priority of the Burkinabé government. The microloans are enabling the beneficiaries to undertake a wide range of commercial and agricultural activities, and thanks to the programme many have been able to successfully work their way out of poverty.
